How Essential Oils have been shown to Kill Viruses
Herbs and the essential oils derived from them have been used from the beginning of human history for different purposes.
In 2016, about 6 million people died globally due to infections of the upper respiratory tract, tuberculosis, or diarrheal diseases. At the same
time, the number of strains of microorganisms resistant to existing antibiotics is constantly increasing.
EOs seem to be a potential alternative to synthetic compounds, especially because of the resistance that has been increasingly developed by
pathogenic microorganisms.
All of the essential oils that have been analyzed below, have been shown in scientific testing to be effective at
killing viruses. The National Institute of Health has documentation on how these Essential Oils kill viruses.
The above excerpts and the list of oils below, along with their results, have been taken from:

Sage EO - Was active against severe acute respiratory SARS virus (RNA virus). It is worth noting that the overriding clinical
feature of SARS is the rapidity with which many patients develop symptoms of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
Eucalyptus EO has antimicrobial activity against viruses, bacteria, yeasts, and filamentous fungi. Eucalyptus EO, rich in 1,8-cineole (88%), was
active against HSV-1 in vitro. Eucalyptus EO is traditionally used to treat
respiratory tract disorders such as pharyngitis, bronchitis, and sinusitis. Eucalyptus has been shown to kill both the Herpes Simplex Virus
Type 1 (HSV1) and the Influenza Virus Type A H121.
Lavender EO showed antiviral activity against Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1). Lavender EO also has antibacterial activity against clinical
strains of bacteria, which were isolated from patients with respiratory tract infections.
Thyme EO - Shown to kill both the Influenza Type A Virus (this virus is responsible for most of the worldwide flu
epidemics throughout history.) And the Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1)
Peppermint EO exhibited high levels of virucidal activity against HSV-1 and HSV-2 in viral suspension tests. Both kinds of viruses were
significantly inhibited when Herpes simplex virus was pre-treated with the EO prior to adsorption.
Tea Tree EO was active against both Herpes Labialis (on facial lips) and Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1)Herpes simplex virus
type 1 in vitro. Tea Tree EO was able to suppress viral multiplication by >96%
Cinnamon EO - Shown to kill the Influenza Virus Type A H121 (this is the flu that killed 50 to 100 million people in the 1918
worldwide Spanish Flu epidemic. 500 million people were infected. The death rate was between 10% and 20%.) Also proven to kill the
Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1)
Clove EO - Shown to kill both the Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 (HSV1) and the Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2 (HSV2)
Essential oils have great potential in the field of biomedicine as they effectively destroy several bacterial, fungal, and viral pathogens.
It is the opinion of many holistic health professionals that some
of the presently available synthetic drugs fail to inhibit many pathogenic microbes. In addition, the use of synthetic chemicals for the control of
pathogenic microorganisms is limited because of their carcinogenic effects, acute toxicity, and environmental hazard potential. In this regard, the
exploitation of essential oils to control epidemic multidrug-resistant pathogenic microorganisms can be useful to combat various infectious diseases.
Essential oils have the ability to hamper the growth of a diverse range of pathogens because of the presence of natural compounds produced by the
organs of plants.

A note about viruses.
Viruses must have a host to replicate. It can live on inanimate surfaces for potentially more than 24 hours (depending on the temperature &
humidity), but will eventually die without a host to infect.
Viruses live longer on hard surfaces such as metal and plastic than they do on fabrics and soft surfaces. The virus may also be spread by airborne
droplets which have landed and live in the environment waiting to be picked up and transferred to a live host.
Our products achieve great results because of two key elements, the quality of the essential oils that we use and the
knowledge that we have to ensure the best mixtures.
We have this mix in a number of formats. There is a Hand Sanitizer mix, which can
be used to kill viruses, bacteria, etc on your hands and other surfaces.
The hand sanitizer mix also includes vitamin E and Aloe Vera, both of which help to keep the skin healthy.
Additional notes about using Witch Hazel, and why we
don't add rubbing alcohol into our "Virus Killer Hand Sanitizer" product.
Witch hazel, derived from flowering plants in the Hamamelidaceae family, is a great natural alternative to rubbing alcohol. It is an effective
astringent, can prevent dehydration, and even reduce the swelling and irritation of inflamed skin. Witch Hazel (Hamamelis water) is a plant
extract that’s made with water via a distillation process today. It used to be made as a decoction. It’s soothing to skin and mildly
astringent, so, it is often used in skin care. It isn’t flammable and while you probably should not drink much of it, it won’t kill
you if you drink a bit. (Note, Witch Hazel does contain 14% alcohol, but we don't add any extra alcohol)
Rubbing alcohol is made via an industrial process. It is highly flammable and very poisonous to consume. Rubbing alcohol is very extremely
hazardous to humans and bacteria, and is chemical based compared to Witch Hazel that is organic and is used for acne cream-cuts-shaving cream etc.
Isopropyl alcohol is extremely hazardous to humans; it is not intended for human consumption, or any other forms of internal usage! If it is so bad to
use internally, why would anyone want to use it externally?
There is the Diffuser mix that is concentrated and can be
used with your Diffuser Humidifier machine, Car Vent Diffuser, Personal Pendant Diffuser, (we sell all of these) or you can put a few
drops onto your face mask. Note: make sure your diffuser machine is not a heated diffuser as the heat will kill the essential oils,
making them ineffective.
Aroma Therapeutic Value of Essential Oils.
Importantly, the unique aroma and other bioactive properties of an essential oil depend on its chemical constituents. In MAPs, essential oils
generally accumulate in the secretary canals or cavities and glandular trichomes and sometimes in the epidermal cells [4]. Essential oils and
their chemical constituents exhibit more bioactivity when present in the oxygenated or active form. In general, the chemical composition of
essential oils is relatively complex, and about 20 to 60 different bioactive components are observed in many of these essential oils. Most
essential oils are composed of terpenes, terpenoids, and other aromatic and aliphatic constituents with low molecular weights.

Here at Cory's SEOM we have created this mix in a diffuser format so you can use it in a Diffuser Humidifier (like the one we sell) and
car vent diffusers (which we also sell) along with putting it into a spray bottle, closet balls, or onto dryer sheet/ball and run on air
dry only.
The most powerful application is the “Virus Killer Throat Spray” which is used by spraying the
mix into the back of your throat and then breathing the essential oils into your lungs so they can kill the viruses in your lungs. The
throat spray is also helping people with a variety of respiratory issues. We have this mix in a glass spray bottle that you can spray
into the back of your throat to kill viruses in the throat, and inhale the essential oils into the
lungs to kill any viruses that are in the lungs. This mix uses oils that have a strong taste, but once most people get used to it they don't mind. When
you purchase the 1oz bottle of this mix, you get the empty spray bottle and a 3ml bottle with the actual oils. If you need to order again,
you simply order the refill bottle and continue to use the spray bottle.... saving you money and keeping the 1oz spray bottle from being thrown
into the trash. The other reason for shipping the empty bottle, is that it won't leak liquid into the shipping package. It is also available in a
10ml trial size spray bottle, which is easy to carry in a purse or pocket. This trial size bottle comes already mixed and ready to use.
